Teleoperated robots can already do useful work. But current systems are imprecise and take significant training to operate. That limits the skill and quality of the work and prevents it from scaling to a large number of tasks.
We want to build a teleoperation framework precise enough to handle skilled tasks like soldering and assembly, but simple enough that almost anyone can quickly start knocking out useful skilled tasks. The goal is a system where someone can watch a short demo, sit down at the controls, and be productive. Make the barrier to skilled remote labor small enough that we can expand how many industries can use it.
A very intentional side affect of this operations forward business plan is that every hour the service runs, it produces clean recordings of skilled operators doing real tasks. This would give us access to levels of data collection that is unprecedented. The data creates significant long term value and allows us to continue to improve the easy of use for our operators in a positive feedback loop.
